31 July 2007 - Run Lola Run

In todays class we watched the second half of our film study - Run Lola Run.
In the second hallf of the film we are shown the two other alternative endings as the result of Lola's actions over her twenty minutes to find $100,000 for her boyfriend (Mani). The result of the second ending is that Mani ends up being run over by an ambulance - Lola robs the bank at which her father works by holding him hostage and requesting the $100,000, when Lola gets outside the police have surrounded the bank however they do not relate to her as being the bank robber letting her run free. When she arrives at the supermarket mani sees her and stands and watches her walk towards him. So overwhelmed Mani does not realise that he is in the middle of the road and is run over.
The third ending ends well for both Mani and lola - Mani finds the man who had the money he left on the train due to the guidance of a blind woman standing outside the phone booth he was in. Lola also manages to recieve $100,000 by gambling at the local casino. This way both get hold of the money in a legal matter and they have nothing to worry about.

Previous Situations - All of the situations in previous alternations result in the Mani and Lola being able to recieve the $100,000 as the characters can remember what happened previously. For example: Lola Remembers in the second situation how to work the safety on the gun she uses to hold her father hostage. Lola was shown how to work the safety during the first situation. Also the blind woman knew the thief of the money was about to ride past due to the previous situation.

Images - Images that stand out to me or that are important to the film are Lola running, Money, and the gun. These features are key points of the film.

My final thoughs of the film are that although at the begining it seemed a very strange film, everything has fallen into place and now it seems a quite interesting film especially because it uses film techniques not seen often.

I believe that this film has been chosen for our film study as it involves a large ammount of different film techniques including, slomo, CU shots, repetition, cross cuts, and cross cuts.

30th July 2007 - Run Lola Run.

Film Study - Run Lola Run is the film we will study in english 2007, From what we have seen of te film so far, Lola has twenty minutes to find $100,000 before her boyfriend robs a grocery store for the money he lost on a train. The different actions of Lola results in what happens in the end. At the end of the first situation Lola is shot by a Policeman after helping her boyfriend to rob the grocery store as she is unable to get the money. The second situation had just begun when our class ended so we will find out other situations next lesson.

Fate - I believe from what we have seen so far that Lola's fate is determinded by her actions before the robbery of the grocery store. Her fate (In the first situation case being shot) will probably change due to her actions. However this is my estimate as we have not yet seen the ending of the second situation.

Responce - To begin my thoughts of the film were that it was quite strange however everything seemed to become more clear futher into it and you begin to wonder what will happen as you have seen the situation the first time however certain things have changed the next time around.
